What does Wesleyan do?

The Wesleyan Provident Assurance Society was established on April 23, 1841, in a small room next to the church on Cherry Street by Birmingham’s Wesleyan Methodist Church.

At the height of the Industrial Revolution, the Society’s mission was to assist Birmingham industry workers in setting aside money for unexpected medical bills and burial costs. August 27, 1841, saw the collection of the first premium. They offered life insurance and annuities even back then, collecting a few pence each week to aid with medical and burial costs.

In what areas does Wesleyan perform well?

The brand received a top rating in all of our assessment areas such as Environmental Reports, Political Donations, and Irresponsible Lending. The exception to its great Ethical Score is that the brand is yet to be Ethically Accredited. Get more information about our ratings and research on our methodology page.
