What is Hastings Direct and what does it do?

Hastings Insurance Services Ltd is a UK insurance broker that offers customer service via the phone, online, and through mobile apps. The company offers a variety of auxiliary goods and services, including breakdown cover, personal accident, substitute vehicle and key, and legal cover, in addition to car, bike, van, and home insurance. Additionally, the business provides unsecured personal loans.

It was a component of the Hastings Group, a company that was traded on the London Stock Exchange up until November 2020, when a group led by the South African company Rand Merchant International and the Finnish insurer Sampo Group purchased it.

David Gundlach and Andrew Bowen’s business concept served as the foundation for the establishment of the corporation. In 2006, the Insurance Australia Group purchased it, and in 2009, the company’s management did so.
